Pediatric Orthopedic Care
Pediatric orthopedics is focused on children's issues. Caring for kids is very different from the care of adults, not just because of physical differences, but also due to differences in social and emotional development.
Pediatric orthopedic surgeons face specific complex issues in the treatment of children. Their competence in the interpretation, diagnosis, and treatment of skeletal abnormalities in children and adolescents must include being able to differentiate abnormal patterns or growth from normal variations.
Pediatric orthopedic problems include scoliosis, knee pain, in-toeing, out-toeing, bowed legs, hip pain, fractures, clubfoot, and many more conditions.
Sports injuries are a second category of problems that often require pediatric orthopedic care.
