Fracture Care

In addition to the familiar splints and casts, some bone fractures may require surgical intervention — and possibly the use of wires, screws, and plates to stabilize and strengthen the broken bone. The latest innovation in fracture care uses screws that are not only threaded into the bone, but also secured to the plate with a separate bolt-like thread. This provides greater rigidity at the fracture, improving conditions for proper healing.
