Gerard Haines, PA-C

Gerard Haines, PA-C, is a native of Philadelphia. He attended West Philadelphia Catholic High School and enjoyed many extracurricular sporting activities.

Jerry went on to Penn State where he studied Exercise and Sports Science, earning his bachelor's degree in Athletic Training in 1994. He became certified to work for a large outpatient rehabilitation center, where one of his many duties was to provide services to area high school students. After several years, Jerry experienced his own orthopaedic injury. During treatment he learned of the physician assistant profession. He found that orthopaedics intrigued him. He did some research and, shortly after recovery, pursued this interest. In 1999 he was accepted into MCP Hahnemann's Physician Assistant program. He graduated from MCP Hahnemann in 2001. He continues to maintain Athletic Training certification nationally as well.

After board certification and becoming licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, Jerry returned to MCP Hahnemann to serve in the Neurosurgery Department.

During his youth, Jerry spent summers as a lifeguard at the Jersey shore. While completing his final year as a lifeguard, Jerry met his wife Laura. A love of the shore and strong desire to work in orthopaedics brought them to Rehoboth Beach. Jerry enjoys outdoor activities and raising his growing family.
